President Joe Biden received a major reality check last week when a CBS News/YouGov poll revealed that a whopping two thirds of Americans believe the economy is in bad shape. Ouch! It seems like the American people are not buying into the supposed “economic recovery” that the Biden administration keeps bragging about.

The survey, conducted from July 26 to July 28, showed that 65% of respondents felt that the economy is “bad,” while a mere 29% described it as “good.” Well, Mr. Biden, it looks like your promises of economic prosperity aren’t resonating with the American people. Maybe it’s time to step up your game and deliver results instead of empty rhetoric.

But that’s not all. The poll also revealed that a staggering 70% of Americans feel that their income is not keeping up with inflation. That’s right, folks. The prices are going up, but our paychecks are not. Thanks, Bidenomics! It seems like the everyday hardworking Americans are the ones bearing the brunt of your failed economic policies.
And it gets even worse for President Biden. When asked about the words they associate with the current economic climate, 61% chose “struggling,” while 51% picked “uncertain.” Meanwhile, only 15% and 11% opted for “rebounding” and “expanding,” respectively. It’s clear that the American people are not feeling the economic growth that President Biden keeps boasting about.
To make matters even more dismal for Biden, a whopping 80% of Americans believe that his policies are to blame for the state of the economy. Forty-four percent squarely place a great deal of responsibility on Biden’s policies, while 36% see them as somewhat responsible. Only 20% think that Biden’s policies are not responsible at all. Oops, looks like the American people have figured out who’s behind their economic woes.
Furthermore, a significant 45% of respondents believe that President Biden’s approach to inflation has made matters worse, while only 19% think it has helped. It seems like the majority of Americans are not buying into Biden’s attempts to downplay the impact of rising prices on their wallets.
In yet another blow to President Biden’s credibility, another poll conducted by the Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research in June revealed that only 34% of Americans approve of how Biden has been handling the economy. That’s a failing grade, Mr. President.
So, there you have it. The American people are not fooled by Biden’s attempts to paint a rosy picture of the economy. Rising prices, stagnant income, and a lackluster recovery have left Americans feeling disillusioned and let down. It’s time for President Biden to step up and take responsibility for his failed economic policies instead of blaming others. The American people deserve better than this.
