Joe Biden’s wobbly stance on supporting Israel has long been a cause for concern among conservatives, and recent developments are only adding fuel to the fire. Following the Hamas attack earlier this month, Biden’s initial tepid support for Israel has gradually eroded, with the administration now taking a tougher stance that includes questionable decisions like sending aid to Hamas, a designated terrorist organization.
As tensions flare up between Israel and Hezbollah, another Iran-backed terrorist group, the United States under Biden’s leadership is sending a clear message to Israel: don’t count on us for help. The warning from Gen. C.Q. Brown that the U.S. might not be able to assist Israel in the event of a conflict with Hezbollah is alarming, to say the least.

The Biden administration’s apparent worry about a potential escalation between Israel and Hezbollah leading to a full-blown conflict is not completely unexpected given Biden’s track record of making questionable foreign policy decisions. The risks highlighted by Gen. Brown, including the impact on U.S. forces in the region, underscore the gravity of the situation.
With Israel and Hezbollah seemingly inching closer to a large-scale confrontation, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s assurances that necessary actions will be taken to protect the country are a stark reminder of the volatile situation in the region. And with Iran likely to back Hezbollah in any conflict, the stakes are higher than ever.
In the midst of all this, the question arises: Is Biden’s reluctance to fully support Israel really about safeguarding U.S. troops in the Middle East, or is it yet another instance of political appeasement and questionable decision-making when it comes to dealing with Iran? The pattern of actions by the Biden administration certainly raises doubts about where its true priorities lie in the complex web of Middle Eastern geopolitics.
