Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) gave a speech on the anniversary of the Inflation Reduction Act at the White House on Wednesday. However, her speech was anything but ordinary. Pelosi couldn’t seem to stop giggling uncontrollably while introducing Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY). It was quite bizarre to watch!

During the event, Schumer took the opportunity to take a jab at Republicans, shouting, “We are not only celebrating the IRA, but we are backing Ukraine!” It was a confusing and disjointed statement to say the least. It’s disappointing to see Democrats using a serious event to take cheap shots at their political opponents.
Pelosi also made sure to thank the President for his supposed impact on the world. She praised his agenda of diversity, inclusion, innovation, and justice, always “for the children!” It’s clear that Pelosi is just towing the party line and promoting the same tired talking points. It would be refreshing to see Democrats actually have a substantive discussion instead of resorting to empty platitudes.
Overall, Pelosi’s address was nothing more than a display of partisan grandstanding. It’s clear that she and Schumer were more interested in taking shots at their political opponents than discussing any meaningful policy proposals. It’s a shame that Democrats seem more interested in playing politics than actually governing and working towards solutions for the American people.
