Chris Wallace of CNN caught Dr. Anthony Fauci off-guard when he asked him during an interview his thoughts on former President Donald Trump.

During his interview, Fauci noted that he had a hard time during the Trump administration. He said that he was uncomfortable being put in the position of having to publicly disagree with Trump. He said he didn't have a desire to become an enemy of the far right.
Wallace then asked him what he would do if he became a target for the right-wing critics. He noted that he would likely become a punching bag for those who criticized him.
Fauci noted that he would likely become a punching bag for those who criticized him. However, he said that he was fine with testifying before any congressional committee. He added that he had nothing to hide, and that he would do whatever it took to defend himself.
