Democrat Rep Scholten Calls for Biden to Step Down in 2024 amid Party Turmoil

Well, folks, it seems the Democrats are starting to see the writing on the wall. Michigan Rep. Hillary Scholten publicly called for President Joe Biden to bow out of the 2024 presidential race. This announcement came hot off her social media platform, which you might know as “X” – because, of course, why not add a little extra flair to the Democrat drama?

Scholten’s statement was nothing short of a political spin job. She praised Biden for his career of public service and then, in the same breath, suggested that he step aside “for the good of our democracy.” Scholten astutely pointed out that leading the country into 2025 and beyond requires the strongest candidate possible, and implied, ever so politely, that it wouldn’t be Biden.

But she’s not alone. Other Democrats are jumping on the “Biden, thanks but no thanks” bandwagon with contagious fervor. Rep. Lloyd Doggett of Texas took to his own megaphone, warning that Biden’s candidacy risks a Trump victory in 2024. Doggett’s sentiment was echoed by Rep. Raúl Grijalva, who hinted that it’s time for Biden to “shoulder the responsibility” of stepping aside.

In a classic move of denial, Biden thumbed his nose at these suggestions, insisting he’s the best candidate to defeat Trump. This, just as new polls indicate that nearly half of Americans think the Democratic Party should look for a new candidate. The YouGov survey revealed a dismal 30 percent support for Biden within his own party, while 49 percent are casting about for someone—anyone—else.

What’s more, Trump continues to lead Biden in a multitude of polls. Americans seem to be souring on the current leadership faster than Biden can remember the name of a foreign leader. The Democratic Party’s internal turmoil isn’t just a sideshow; it’s the main event headed toward 2024.

In a circus of political grandstanding, infighting, and reality-denial, the Democrats are entertaining the nation while inadvertently constructing a path for Trump’s return. So grab some popcorn, folks, because it looks like we’re in for a wild ride leading up to the next election.
