Tuesday saw Warnock successfully defend his championship, according to the Associated Press and Reuters. Walker was more than 1% behind the incumbent. In Georgia, a candidate has to get 50% of the vote to prevail.
In November, both candidates engaged in a competitive battle. After nobody of them could win at least 50% of the vote, it was decided in a runoff.
On the campaign trail, both contenders came under intense examination.
Warnock was assailed by Walker's campaign, which questioned his character.
