Dems Blame TRUMP For Afghanistan Debacle

As the debacle in Afghanistan continued, some Democrat members on the House Foreign Affairs Committee couldn’t help but take a shot at former President Donald Trump. They couldn’t resist taking potshots at the former President and blaming him for what was going on. The former President is nothing but a boogeyman for these Democrats, a scapegoat for all their political ills.

Rep. Gerry Connolly (D-VA) warned his fellow Democrats at the hearing not to make it about attacking the former President. “I hope this hearing doesn’t descent into, just a, let’s pick on the other’s party president because that is a revisionist view of history and serves no purpose and brings no honor to the table,” he said in his remarks. But it seems like this warning was ignored by his fellow Democrats.

The Democrats just couldn’t resist blaming everything on President Trump. Rep. David Cicilline (D-RI) praised the Biden administration for the “unprecedented” evacuation from Afghanistan but couldn’t help taking a swipe at the former President. He said that the Trump administration pressured the Afghan government to release 5,000 Taliban prisoners, which affected events on the ground. He also said that when the Trump administration dismantled our nation’s refugee programs, it affected events on the ground.

These statements by the Democrats only serve to deflect blame away from the Biden administration, which has bungled the entire withdrawal process. It is clear that the Democrats are trying to create their own revisionist history by laying all the blame on the former President. They are trying to rewrite history to suit their political agenda.

It is shameful to see these elected representatives playing politics with the lives of our soldiers and the Afghan people. They should be focusing on finding solutions to the problems at hand instead of just blaming the former President. The American people deserve better than this partisan showboating.

As the people continue to suffer in Afghanistan due to the botched withdrawal, it is imperative that our elected officials come together and find a solution. It is not the time for partisan politics, but a time for unity and action. We hope that the Democrats can put aside their partisan differences and work towards a solution that is in the best interest of the American people and the people of Afghanistan.
