This whole debacle began back in 2022 when Disney shamelessly opposed a law signed by Governor DeSantis that aimed to protect elementary school kids from grooming by public school teachers. Yes, you heard that right! Disney, the so-called family-friendly company, was actually fighting for the “right” to groom innocent children. As if that wasn’t bad enough, Disney had been enjoying all sorts of special treatment in Florida for years.

But DeSantis wasn’t having any of it. He signed legislation that would dissolve Disney’s special tax and governing jurisdiction in Florida, putting an end to the Reedy Creek Improvement District, which had been Disney’s playground for over 55 years.
When Disney tried to pull some sneaky moves to protect its special status, including getting a 30-year exemption from government oversight, DeSantis swiftly put an end to it by appointing his own people to the board and overturning their shenanigans.
Disney, not used to being challenged, threw a tantrum and sued Florida in federal court, claiming that DeSantis was using government power against the company. But DeSantis wouldn’t back down and countersued. And guess what? Disney’s reputation tanked, its movies started flopping left and right, and the CEO, Bob Iger, found himself facing a shareholder revolt because of the company’s leftist politics.
In the end, Disney realized it was in deep trouble and surrendered. DeSantis’s communications director, Bryan Griffin, set the record straight, stating that Disney had dropped its lawsuits and acknowledged that its last-minute agreements were null and void. He emphasized that no corporation should act as its own government and that moving forward, they would work with Disney to promote economic growth, family-friendly tourism, and accountable government in Central Florida.
Despite the mainstream media’s attempt to spin Disney’s surrender as a “settlement,” it was clear that the victory belonged to DeSantis and the good guys. With a press conference featuring DeSantis, not Iger, the truth about Disney’s capitulation was revealed.
So, to all the parents out there, beware of Disney. Their true colors have been exposed, and no decent parent should leave their child alone with anything associated with this once-beloved company.
