In today’s world, it seems that traditional values are tossed aside in favor of more “progressive” ideas that many conservatives find alarming. One such issue involves the idea of surrogacy, particularly when it comes to gay couples. Recently, a well-known gay country musician and media personality is under scrutiny for using surrogacy to become a parent and, disturbingly, involving his child in what many see as inappropriate content. With videos circulating online of this individual participating in crude and vulgar content, one must ponder what sort of environment this represents for a child. Conservatives firmly believe that children deserve to be brought into a loving, responsible family structure, not purchased as props for an adult’s personal brand.
The concept of surrogacy has raised eyebrows for many years, drawing significant ire for transforming the miracle of childbirth into a business transaction. Some see it as unethical and deeply problematic, treating children as commodities. Conservatives argue that this should not be a controversial viewpoint. The buying and selling of children demeans the sanctity of life and disrupts the natural family order, something conservatives hold dear. The argument is simple: children are priceless blessings, not items to be bargained over.
Unfortunately, in recent times, individuals who once proclaimed allegiance to liberal ideologies have switched sides, only to bring their flawed beliefs into conservative circles. It’s a trend that has not gone unnoticed. While their transition to conservatism is welcomed, their attempts to reshape core conservative principles are not. It’s troubling when these newfound “converts” presume to change the basic tenets of conservativism to fit their beliefs, particularly when advocating for practices like surrogacy, which many staunch conservatives see as morally wrong. These individuals may claim they have left liberalism behind, yet they cling to some of its most extreme viewpoints.
The disconnect is concerning. One might leave the left yet fail to abandon the very principles that define it. Instead, they bring their previous mindset along, demanding accommodations within conservatism for ideas and lifestyles that contradict its core values. A true conservative understands the importance of family and traditional roles, and does not stand by as moral boundaries are pushed and prodded. Those who continue to promote radical left beliefs disguised under the guise of conservatism need to step back and reassess whether they are truly ready to uphold the values conservatives have long fought for.
A conservative movement requires dedication to principles rooted in history and tradition. It is important to remain steadfast against the tide of liberal pressures. Conservatives don’t aim to hate or divide; they wish to preserve the family structure, ensure the upbringing of children in nurturing environments, and uphold an unwavering respect for life. This doesn’t only benefit conservatives—it’s beneficial for society as a whole. Anyone serious about adopting a conservative mindset should first respect and understand the beliefs they aim to embrace, rather than attempting to redefine them.
