Former Attorney General Bill Barr has taken another stab at President Donald Trump, stating that he would be willing to testify against him at the Jan 6 trial. In an interview on CBS’s “Face the Nation,” Barr was asked if he had been interviewed by the special counsel. He replied, “I’m not going to go into that.” When asked if he would appear as a witness if called, Barr confidently answered, “Of course.”
Anchor Major Garrett then brought up the defense team’s plan to cross-examine Barr and question the thoroughness of his investigation. In response, Barr defended his investigation, stating that it satisfied him that there was no basis for concluding fraud had occurred. He specifically addressed one of Trump’s repeated claims about more people voting than absentee ballots requested, calling it a mixing of apples and oranges. Barr added, “And once that was explained to him, we should have heard no more about that.”
