FBI Says Gaming Account Linked to Trump Assassin is Fake

It seems the media was a bit too eager to push their narrative when they reported earlier that the would-be assassin of former President Donald Trump had made a chilling post on the gaming platform Steam. But now, according to CNN, law enforcement officials are stating that the Steam account in question is actually fake.

The FBI originally believed that the account did belong to Thomas Matthew Crooks, the man responsible for the attempted assassination. However, they have since revised their assessment. It’s clear that investigators are still in the early stages of their probe and have not yet determined a motive.

Of course, before the truth came out, speculation was running wild about the shooter’s political leanings. Fox News Senior White House Correspondent Jacqui Heinrich reported that a group of senators were briefed on Crooks’ alleged social media posts, but it turns out that the paraphernalia found on and around him was actually quite odd, indicating that there might be more to this story than meets the eye.

It’s worth mentioning that investigators found several searches related to major depression disorder on Crooks’ phone. However, they have yet to uncover any evidence suggesting a motive or political affiliation. In fact, the examination of his phone by the FBI revealed nothing of significance.

As the investigation unfolds, it’s important to wait for more details before jumping to conclusions. While initial reports may have sparked panic, it’s clear that the situation is far more complex than it initially seemed. Stay tuned for updates.
