In a heated Senate hearing, Republican Senator Ron Johnson from Wisconsin really gave FBI Director Christopher Wray a run for his money. Johnson grilled Wray over allegations that the FBI has been covering up for the Biden family. It all started last week when fellow Republican Senator Chuck Grassley from Iowa released a report claiming that the FBI had more than 40 confidential sources providing information on Joe Biden, James Biden, and Hunter Biden.
During the hearing, Johnson demanded answers: “Did the FBI actually investigate this information or did they just sweep it under the rug?” Johnson accused the FBI of discrediting negative information about Hunter Biden and shutting down any investigations into the matter. According to Johnson, the FBI’s Pittsburgh office wouldn’t take any action without approval from headquarters.
But Wray, the FBI Director, seemed to brush off Johnson’s concerns. He dismissed Johnson’s characterization of his own performance and the FBI in general. It’s clear that Johnson, along with many others, is deeply skeptical of the FBI’s transparency and trustworthiness. Johnson wants to see credibility and integrity restored to the institution, but he doesn’t believe that Wray has accomplished that since taking office.

In the same report that Grassley released, he provided evidence that a specialized FBI team tried to dismiss the Biden-related information as foreign disinformation. However, some of these sources had been vetted by multiple U.S. attorney’s offices and had no connection to known Russian disinformation channels. These sources allegedly provided the FBI with criminal information related to the Bidens, and they were managed by various FBI field offices.
This is just the latest twist in the ongoing saga involving the Bidens. Past disclosures have hinted at a questionable scheme involving Joe and Hunter Biden and Ukrainian business leaders. It’s alleged that the Bidens pressured a Ukrainian prosecutor in exchange for significant payments from the head of Burisma Holdings. Grassley previously revealed an FBI record suggesting that President Biden was involved in a criminal scheme in Ukraine. According to the documents, Hunter Biden was hired by Burisma to protect them through his father’s influence.
It’s no wonder that Johnson and other Republicans are raising eyebrows. The FBI’s handling of this information and their perceived lack of transparency has left many feeling skeptical. This issue goes beyond just the Bidens; it’s about restoring trust in our institutions. Wray may claim to be a lifelong Republican, but his actions haven’t convinced Johnson or many others on the right.
