Despite his Democratic loyalty, Fetterman has shown robust support for Israel in its battle against Hamas, a stance that has disappointed the left wing of his party. While some of his liberal compatriots call for an immediate ceasefire, Fetterman has stood firm in his belief that Israel must have the freedom to crush Hamas for the sake of peace in Gaza. He even attended a large pro-Israel rally in Washington and made a bold statement by displaying posters of Israeli hostages in his Senate office, demonstrating his unwavering solidarity with the nation.
On the topic of immigration, Fetterman has surprised many with his willingness to engage in negotiations with Republicans. While other Democrats have resisted such discussions, the junior senator has shown openness to working on measures to limit migration in exchange for aiding Israel and Ukraine. He has spoken out, stressing the need for a “reasonable conversation” on immigration, especially in light of the significant influx of migrants at the border. Fetterman’s willingness to engage in these discussions has caused a stir within the Democratic Party, but has garnered support from conservative circles.
