Geraldo Rivera FLIPS OUT Over DeSantis’ Ukraine Comments

On Monday, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis declared that the situation in Ukraine is “not a vital U.S. interest.” During a press conference, DeSantis argued that the U.S. should prioritize its own national interests, such as securing its borders, addressing the crisis of readiness within its military, achieving energy security and independence, and checking the economic, cultural, and military power of the Chinese Communist Party.

DeSantis’s comments have drawn attention from many, including journalist and television personality Geraldo Rivera. Responding to DeSantis on social media, Rivera said, “Disappointed in Gov Ron DeSantis announcing Ukraine is not a vital US interest. Not in US interest to prevent expansionist Russia from invading innocent neighboring countries? Not in our interest to prevent return of the Iron Curtain? In our interest to roll over for Putin?”

The conflict between Ukraine and Russia dates back to 2014, when Russia annexed Crimea from Ukraine, a move that was widely condemned by the international community. Since then, tensions have continued to escalate.

It is understandable why some are disappointed with DeSantis’s comments, but it is important to remember that the United States has its own interests to focus on. It is not responsible for every conflict in the world and should not be expected to intervene in every situation. It is important for the United States to prioritize its own national interests and not become entangled in a territorial dispute between two other countries.

Furthermore, it is important to remember that Russia is a powerful nation and it would be unwise for the United States to get involved in a conflict that could potentially lead to a full-scale war. It is also important to note that President Donald Trump has been successful in his dealings with Russia and has managed to keep the peace between the two countries.

Ultimately, it is up to the people of Ukraine and Russia to decide how they will handle their conflict. The United States should not be expected to intervene in every situation and should focus on its own national interests. Governor DeSantis’s comments are a reminder of this fact.
