Senator Ron Johnson has asked FBI Director Chris Wray to explain how officials came to make the false claims about the reports about Hunter Biden.
In response, Johnson asked if there was any sign of Russian disinformation in the reports. He said that there was no evidence of this.
During a senate hearing on Thursday, Johnson, who is from Wisconsin, asked the FBI director why the agency did not reveal more information about Biden before the 2020 presidential election. The Republican also asked about the agency's handling of an investigation into his foreign business activities.

In response, the FBI director said that the agency had offered to provide a senior executive with a detailed explanation of its procedures. However, he refused to provide details about the investigation into the source of the information that was used to make the false claims about Biden.
Republican members of the senate believe that the FBI intentionally suppressed the story about Hunter Biden in order to help Joe Biden during the presidential election. Johnson vowed to investigate the matter.
