In a shocking twist that even had CNN scratching their heads, President Joe Biden has done a complete 180 on his stance regarding the border wall. The same Biden who vehemently denounced the wall during his campaign is now overseeing its expansion. Talk about a flip-flop!
During the 2020 presidential campaign, Biden boldly declared, “No, there will not be another foot of wall constructed on my administration.” Well, someone must have forgotten to tell his administration because they are busy bulldozing through South Texas, claiming there’s an “acute and immediate need” for more wall.
It’s quite the departure from Biden’s previous promises. On his very first day in office, he declared, “Building a massive wall that spans the entire southern border is not a serious policy solution.” So what changed, Mr. President? Did you suddenly realize that a secure border is actually important?
While it’s true that many Americans have been calling for stronger security along the southern border, it’s still mind-boggling to see Biden betray his campaign promises so soon. It’s almost as if he will say anything to get elected and then do the exact opposite once he’s in power. But hey, who needs consistency when you can just pander to whatever audience you’re in front of at the moment?
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) claims that the construction is necessary due to high illegal entry in specific regions of Texas. They say over 245,000 illegal entrants have been caught in the Rio Grande Valley Sector alone in Fiscal Year 2023. That’s a lot of people trying to sneak into our country, and it begs the question: why haven’t we been doing more to secure our borders all along?
It’s clear that Biden’s administration is more concerned with appeasing the far-left than keeping our country safe. But hey, who needs border security anyway? Let’s just throw open the gates and let anyone who wants to enter come on in. That’s sure to end well…not. Maybe Biden should start listening to the American people instead of his radical base and actually follow through on his promises for once. But I won’t hold my breath.
