Vice President Kamala Harris has once again provided Americans with a good laugh. During an appearance on MSNBC’s “The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell,” Harris delivered a confusing and nonsensical statement about the upcoming 2024 election. In a clip shared on social media by RNC Research, Harris declared, “You know, every election cycle we talk about this is the most election of our lifetime. Lawrence, this one is.”

This attempt at communicating a point left viewers scratching their heads. It’s one thing to use hyperbole to emphasize the importance of an election, but Harris takes it to a whole new level by calling 2024 “the most election.” The phrase itself, even in written form, appears worse than it sounds. One would expect a seasoned politician to provide some sort of clarification or use air quotes to indicate what they mean by “most.” However, Harris offers nothing of the sort.
The RNC Research post humorously summarized Harris’ statement as: “‘Kamala Harris: ‘This is the most election of our lifetime.'” It’s an accurate reflection of the absurdity of her statement. It seems that Harris consistently falls short and fails to live up to even the lowest expectations. Similar to how Republican Gov. Jacob Cox of Ohio described Democratic President Andrew Johnson, one could say that Harris is “obstinate without being firm, self-opinionated without being capable of systematic thinking, combative and pugnacious without being courageous.”
Throughout her public appearances, Harris consistently disappoints, and her latest gaffe is no exception. She claims that people who hold different political beliefs are attempting to divide the country, using the most crude and profound methods. Harris then attempts to parody President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s famous “four freedoms” speech by emphasizing the freedom to make decisions about one’s body and love who they love. However, her version lacks coherence and is accompanied by wild hand gestures, making it even more cringe-worthy.
Social media users are not holding back their embarrassment and mortification. Many express their disappointment with Harris as the first female vice president, calling her an utter embarrassment. Some even describe her as terrible and embarrassing. It seems that Harris always manages to exceed expectations when it comes to facepalm moments. She truly never fails to disappoint.
