The left is scrambling to protect their leader after Special Counsel Robert Hur’s report on Biden’s mishandling of classified files was released, which included disturbing revelations about the president’s mental health. It’s like a game of musical chairs, and the left is desperately trying to find a seat before the music stops.
Over the weekend, Democrats were falling over themselves to vouch for Biden’s mental acuity. They claim he’s sharper than a tack, but let’s be real — we’ve all witnessed his mental decline for the past four years. The guy even claimed he had conversations with European leaders who are long gone. Come on, man! Even MSNBC’s Molly Jong-Fast joined the anti-Hur brigade, arguing that he’s not a neurologist. Well, news flash, Molly: you don’t need to be a brain surgeon to recognize when someone’s memory is on the fritz.

It’s not just Jong-Fast who’s lashing out. Vice President Kamala Harris and CNN’s Jeffrey Toobin (yes, the same Toobin of Zoom infamy) chimed in, insisting that Hur overstepped by including observations about Biden’s memory lapses in the report. It’s like a liberal chorus singing in unison to shield Biden from any criticism about his age and mental fitness. And, of course, The New York Times is leading the charge by throwing up the ol’ “Are you a doctor?” defense. It’s like they’ve suddenly discovered the credentialism wall to hide behind. It’s comical, really. The left is clutching at straws, hoping to shut down any criticism by resorting to the “only doctors can comment on health” argument. Please, spare us the sanctimony.
Even the usually left-leaning Glenn Greenwald took a swing at this narrative, pointing out that it’s not just neurologists who can assess memory problems. Lawyers, judges, and juries do it all the time. It’s not rocket science, folks. The left’s problem is that regular people, without a medical degree, can see when something’s off. Yet, here they are, trying to enforce an elitist standard when it suits their narrative.
So, the left can holler about needing a medical degree to discuss Biden’s health all they want, but the truth is, the American people can trust their own eyes and ears. When Biden starts claiming he’s having chats with ghostly world leaders, we’re not just going to shrug our shoulders and say, “Well, we’re not doctors, so who are we to judge?” This is America, and we have the right to make our own observations, especially when it comes to determining who’s fit to lead our country. And it doesn’t take a brain surgeon to see that something’s amiss.
