Mar-A-Lago Staff Subpoenaed: Trump Classified Docs Case Rumbles On

At least two dozen persons associated with former President Donald Trump have been subpoenaed as part of the Department of Justice Special Counsel’s examination into the handling of confidential information by Trump. The DOJ scrutinizes everyone, from Mar-a-Lago employees to close aides.

CNN stated that the DOJ is requesting testimony from everyone from the president’s lawyers to his housekeepers about their observations of the president’s handling of secret information on his estate. In August of last year, during a raid on Mar-a-Lago, FBI officers discovered eleven sets of classified papers, including those designated secret and top secret.

CNN reports that Trump’s communications aide Margo Martin went before the grand jury on Thursday. Also, the president’s three lawyers recently testified before the grand jury, according to a prior CNN story. It seems that the Department of Justice is conducting a comprehensive inquiry, leaving no stone unturned in its search of justice.

Jack Smith, the Special Counsel assigned to the Trump case in November, said in a statement at the time that he would handle the inquiry independently and according to the Department of Justice’s best practices. Yet, it is evident that this probe is simply another effort by the left to discredit and undermine the legitimacy of President Trump and his followers.

It is disturbing that the Department of Justice is ready to go to such an extent in its investigation of President Trump while disregarding other serious matters, such as widespread voting fraud and election anomalies. This probe is clearly nothing more than a witch hunt, and it is regrettable that public funds are being squandered on this partisan political goal.
