Rep. Maxine Waters of California is at it again, doing what she does best: defending the indefensible. For years, she’s been at the forefront of making excuses for the chaos that disrupts our communities. Her latest round of gaslighting revolves around the riots in Los Angeles County, where she astonishingly claims there was no violence, despite clear evidence to the contrary. This is a classic move from a Democrat playbook that seems disconnected from reality.
When the LAPD described the riots as out of control, with officers being overwhelmed by lawlessness and flames consuming cars, Waters shrugged it off. According to her, if no one’s shot or killed, then apparently, it’s all good. Her dangerous rhetoric implies that property destruction and attacks on law enforcement are merely minor incidents not worth acknowledging. It’s this line of reasoning that emboldens rioters and undermines the rule of law.

Democrats seem bent on repeating the same mistakes that led them to lose in 2024. Their consistent denial of what voters see with their own eyes signals a dangerous disconnect with reality. It’s almost as if they want to lose the upcoming 2026 midterms. How can any party expect to win when they are this out of touch with the concerns of the American people?
