Milwaukee Radio Station Admits to Editing Biden Interview at Campaign’s Request

A Milwaukee radio station has come clean about tinkering with an interview featuring President Joe Biden, a move that definitely didn’t sit well with the station’s listeners. Apparently, after Biden’s lackluster debate performance against former President Donald Trump, he hopped on a call with host Earl Ingram from Civic Media, a talk-radio network in Wisconsin. But here’s the kicker – it turns out the Biden campaign had a few requests for edits before the interview aired, and the station – shocker! – obliged.

The station admitted to making two cuts at the campaign’s behest, claiming they were minor and didn’t alter the substance of the interview. One snip involved Biden boasting about having “more Blacks in my administration than any other president”, which is quite the claim. The other cut apparently showcased Biden struggling to articulate thoughts about Trump’s stance on the Central Park Five case. Yikes.

Naturally, this whole debacle raised some eyebrows and prompted the station to release the unedited interview online. They also issued a statement acknowledging their misstep and vowed to uphold better journalistic standards in the future. Seems like they learned their lesson the hard way on this one.

Not to be outdone, another radio host in Philadelphia recently bid adieu to her station following a similar incident involving President Biden and scripted questions from his campaign. This sort of cozy setup between politicians and media personalities is a big no-no in the journalism world, but it seems like some folks are willing to bend the rules for a chance to chat up the Commander-in-Chief.
