NBC Disrespects Prayer at Trump GOP Convention Speech, Sparks Outrage

It’s always a circus when the liberal media takes the stage, and the final night of the Republican National Convention was no exception thanks to NBC News. Former President Donald Trump, poised to potentially make his triumphant return to the White House, gave his nomination speech. Moments earlier, Rev. Franklin Graham delivered a stirring prayer that clearly wasn’t captivating enough for NBC’s top brass, who decided it was the perfect time to cut away for some inane commentary.

Savannah Guthrie, the NBC anchor, openly acknowledged that what was happening was a prayer but decided her viewers just had to hear Garrett Haake’s riveting report from the convention floor. Brilliant timing, folks. Rather than talk about Graham’s heartfelt prayer, she turned the conversation to whether Haake had spotted Sen. JD Vance, Trump’s running mate. Meanwhile, butchering basic respect, they broadcasted live during a solemn moment of bowing heads and closed eyes.

When the camera caught Trump and Vance in prayer, Haake, suddenly aware of his own crassness, whispered that he had been asked to be quiet—a request that wouldn’t have been necessary if NBC had an ounce of respect in the first place. The show stumbled along with Lester Holt expressing sympathy for Haake’s “difficult spot,” yet it seems the network’s difficult spot was self-inflicted disrespect.

Spurred by Reagan Reese’s coverage from the Daily Caller, social media pounced. Users rightfully denounced the live hit as a flagrant interruption, while delegates on the floor were visibly irate, some even giving Haake a piece of their mind. It was elementary decency falling victim to NBC’s insatiable need to chatter.

The backlash didn’t stop there. Reese’s post was a magnet for rightful outrage, marked by users condemning NBC’s vile intrusion and applauding the delegates for standing up to the lack of respect. They pointed out the network’s habit of talking over significant moments, such as Gold Star families honoring fallen servicemembers the previous night—a nod to MSNBC’s own Jaime Harrison cracking jokes while families mourned.

Apparently, the liberal media’s playbook now includes disregarding both prayer and patriotism. This level of disrespect is par for the course for a network that has proven it values its chatter over heartfelt national moments. It seems decorum has taken a backseat to ratings on this runaway train headed straight for Irrelevance Junction.
