Former Vice President Mike Pence’s 2024 campaign has just released some new merchandise, and boy, are they clever! They’ve got T-shirts and hats with the slogan “Too honest” plastered across them. Now, you might be wondering where this catchy phrase came from. Well, it turns out it’s actually a quote from the indictment against none other than our favorite former president, Donald J. Trump.
According to the January 6 indictment, Trump had the audacity to say that Pence was “too honest.” Can you believe it? Here’s what happened: on January 1, 2021, Trump called Pence to voice his concerns about the VP opposing his potential lawsuit challenging the election results. He wanted to know if Pence had the authority to reject votes during the certification process. But guess what? Pence, the so-called “Mr. Constitution,” claimed he didn’t have the power. Trump clearly disagreed and told Pence, “You’re too honest,” sarcastically, of course.
Shortly after this, Trump took to Twitter to rally his supporters for the big protest rally on January 6. You remember that day, right? The one where some folks got a little carried away at the Capitol? Well, now it seems like Pence’s “too honest” stance is coming back to bite him, thanks to this indictment against Trump.
Apparently, the indictment alleges that Trump was committed to exploring all legal avenues to ensure the election’s outcome was verified. And guess who gave the prosecution some extra ammunition? That’s right, our dear old Pence. The indictment even mentions a meeting between Trump and Pence, as well as some “notes” that Pence handed over. Talk about throwing your former boss under the bus!

But it doesn’t end there. Trump, being the master of Twitter, went on an absolute rant about Pence. He accused him of not fighting against election fraud, and he claims that the “RINOS & Dems” changed the law to take away Pence’s power. Now, I’m not sure where Trump gets his information, but he seems awfully confident that this recent indictment is “fake.” Oh, and apparently, Pence isn’t attracting any crowds, enthusiasm, or loyalty. Ouch!
Now, here’s where things get spicy. Pence, in a shocking turn of events, has left open the possibility of testifying at Trump’s criminal trial. Can you believe it? After initially trying to avoid testifying, claiming he had “nothing to hide,” Pence has suddenly decided to be part of this politically motivated trial. It makes you wonder if Pence’s claims about the “weaponization of the Justice Department” were all just empty words. Is he really ready to align himself with those who want to undermine his beloved former president?
Well, well, well, it looks like we’ve got ourselves a real showdown! Pence and Trump, both 2024 rivals now, seem to be heading in opposite directions. While Trump continues to fight for what he believes in, Pence is waffling and flip-flopping, trying to save face. But let’s be real here, folks. Pence’s willingness to participate in this trial leaves us with more questions than answers. Is he really the “too honest” guy he claims to be, or is he just another politician looking for political gain? Only time will tell.
