A recent poll executed by YouGov/CBS News reveals that a robust majority of Americans are throwing their support behind President-elect Trump’s transition plans. Interestingly, it seems that no amount of mudslinging from left-wing politicians and mainstream media outlets can dampen the enthusiasm around Trump’s cabinet picks. Despite the predictable attacks from the left, people appear to be seeing through the smoke and mirrors.
While YouGov has a reputation for leaning left, this poll paints a surprisingly rosy picture for Trump as he gears up for a second term, earning positive feedback from 59 percent of respondents. This approval rating skyrockets among Republican voters, illustrating that the party is more unified than ever in their support for the man who refuses to be pushed around by the left’s relentless onslaught.
In terms of how Americans feel about Trump’s victory, the results are decidedly upbeat. Thirty-one percent of participants indicated they are “happy” about his win, while 24 percent stated they are “satisfied.” This translates to a net positive of support, despite an oddly vocal 23 percent who claim to be dissatisfied and a smattering of 21 percent who are reportedly “angry.” These grumblings from the opposition seem trivial compared to the overall positive sentiment surrounding his administration.
Delving into the Republican base, a whopping 54 percent of GOP respondents expressed excitement over Trump’s victory, while 41 percent are feeling optimistic. Quite astonishingly, a mere five percent have a negative view on the matter, indicating that the party is rallying behind Trump with fervor. Even 10 percent of Democrat respondents admitted that Trump’s success has “motivated” them to back his second term — a sign of shifting sentiments even among the left.

The spotlight also falls on Trump’s cabinet nominees, with the YouGov poll revealing that most respondents support nearly all candidates, with the exception of U.S. Rep. Matt Gaetz, who has wisely opted out of the attorney general role amid backlash. Senator Marco Rubio is enjoying quite the popularity contest, with 46 percent of respondents approving of his nomination. Meanwhile, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the former independent candidate who has swung back toward Trump’s camp, also received a warm reception, trailing closely behind Rubio. It is worth noting that significant uncertainty still lingers with 23 percent of respondents feeling uninformed.
On the intelligence front, Tulsi Gabbard is faring well, garnering 42 percent support, despite her being branded a “Russian asset” by the left for her stance against endless wars. Moreover, Pete Hegseth is drawing mixed feelings, with 38 percent viewing him favorably while 34 percent are unfazed, confirming that the smear campaigns against him and Gabbard are hitting a wall. The GOP seems to be digging in, determined to champion these nominees against the tide of leftist negativity. With all this support, the left may want to reconsider their tactics, as they only fuel further enthusiasm for conservative leadership.
