Sage Steele Defies ESPN Gag Order, Champions Female Athletes!

Former ESPN anchor Sage Steele bravely spoke out about the injustice happening in women’s sports when she revealed that her former employer tried to silence her from criticizing Lia Thomas, a male swimmer who identifies as “transgender” and competed against women at the University of Pennsylvania. Steele, along with her colleague Sam Ponder, had raised concerns about Thomas competing against women, but ESPN tried to shut them down.

Steele didn’t back down, though. In an interview with women’s sports advocate Riley Gaines, Steele recounted how ESPN demanded she stop speaking out about the unfairness surrounding Thomas’ participation in women’s sports. Can you believe the nerve of those ESPN bigwigs? But Steele didn’t take it lying down. She refused to stay silent and continued to speak out on social media because she wasn’t about to let the truth be silenced.

Steele made it clear that she was standing up for the rights of women in sports. She emphasized that the issue wasn’t just her opinion; it was based on scientific facts and biology. She declared that she was ready to face the consequences and would not back down from supporting women in sports, no matter what ESPN or anyone else had to say about it.

To top it all off, Steele’s bravery was backed up by another woman, Paula Scanlan, who shed light on the uncomfortable situation female athletes faced when forced to share a locker room with Thomas. Scanlan revealed the discomfort and fear the female athletes experienced, including being warned not to talk to the media about the situation and being told to accept Thomas competing against them.
