The Senate passed a foreign aid package on Tuesday that included billions of dollars in military aid to Ukraine. Some House Republicans were against the bill, and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell blamed conservative commentator Tucker Carlson for the opposition.
JUST IN – Mitch McConnell: "I think the demonization of Ukraine began by Tucker Carlson, who in my opinion ended up where he should have been all along, which is interviewing Vladimir Putin."

McConnell criticized Carlson for “demonizing Ukraine,” pointing to an interview Carlson did with Russian President Vladimir Putin earlier this year. The Kentucky senator believes Carlson’s influence led many Republicans to question supporting Ukraine.
In response, Carlson has accused McConnell of being part of a “uniparty.” He criticized McConnell for posing with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy alongside other lawmakers, calling them the “elderly Republican senators.”
Despite the backlash, Carlson defended his decision to interview Putin, denying allegations of being pro-Putin. He stated that he has the right to form his own opinions as an American citizen. This situation highlights the divisions within the Republican Party over foreign policy and Ukraine.
It is concerning to see influential figures within the conservative movement clash over important issues like foreign aid to Ukraine. Republicans must stand united in supporting our allies and standing up against adversaries like Russia. Disagreements within the party only weaken our position on the global stage.
