Former President Donald Trump claims that the Middle East would be on a path to peace by now if he were still in office. Trump believes that if the 2020 election had not been “rigged” and he had remained president, every Arab country, and possibly even Iran, would have signed the Abraham Accords. These accords normalized relations between several Arab nations and Israel.
During Trump’s presidency, multiple Arab countries joined the Abraham Accords, including the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Morocco, and Sudan. Trump asserts that other nations, including Iran, were on the verge of joining as well. However, since President Joe Biden took office, no new countries have joined the accords, and the region has become more unstable.

Trump credits his tough approach to Iran, including imposing sanctions and ordering the killing of Qassem Soleimani, for potentially forcing Iran to negotiate. He believes that if he were still president, Iran would not have the financial resources to support groups like Hamas and Hezbollah.
Additionally, Trump argues that if he were in charge, the recent terrorist attack on Israel by Hamas in Gaza would not have occurred. He claims that he would have taken more decisive action to prevent such attacks.
In his interview with Breitbart News, Trump also criticizes Biden’s foreign policy, particularly his focus on achieving peace between Israelis and Palestinians before pursuing peace with other Arab nations. He accuses Biden of being “vicious” with his political opponents but not taking a tough stance against foreign adversaries. Trump suggests that Biden’s financial ties to foreign countries, such as the Chinese Communist Party, compromise his decision-making.
Overall, Trump portrays himself as a strong leader who would have achieved peace in the Middle East and prevented destabilization in the region if he were still president. He criticizes Biden for his approach to foreign policy and suggests that the current president is compromised by foreign influence.
