Donald Trump stirred the pot recently, causing sparks to fly when he described Kamala Harris as “mentally impaired” during campaign speeches. It seems not even some Republicans were eager to hitch their wagons to his comments, quickly distancing themselves from the fiery rhetoric. The former president pointed out that if a Republican had behaved in the same irresponsible manner as Harris, they would have faced impeachment for “high crimes and misdemeanors.” While some party members insisted on keeping the focus on issues instead of personal jabs, it raises the question: why is it that leftist politicians can throw mud while the right has to play nice?
In a world where Joe Biden’s obvious cognitive decline is swept under the rug, the media never tires of juxtaposing his slip-ups with Trump’s occasional gaffe, even when logic suggests otherwise. It seems only a psychologist with a penchant for sensationalism and no firsthand experience with Trump proclaimed there was evidence of dementia—apparently based on nothing more than a mixed-up name. Yet, when it comes to Biden’s inconsistencies, mainstream outlets were slow to acknowledge the alarming signs until they became too blatant to ignore during a debate that was more painful to witness than a flat tire in the middle of nowhere. What began as an attempt to shield Biden morphed into a desperate attempt to discredit Trump, demonstrating a clear bias in the media’s treatment of the two.
The Trump that takes no prisoners and pulls no punches is back:
"Joe Biden became mentally impaired.
Kamala was born that way.
And if you think about it, only a mentally disabled person could have allowed this to happen to our country"No lies detected. pic.twitter.com/Dvw7m4OM6h

Moreover, the Democrats weren’t just content to play nice. During Trump’s presidency, the idea of invoking the 25th Amendment became a favorite talking point for the left despite lacking any concrete evidence. There was even talk of creating a commission for assessing presidential mental fitness, but for some reason, that never gained traction when it came to Biden. It’s as if they understood the math: if they pointed fingers at Trump while ignoring Democratic slip-ups, they could maintain the ruse of moral high ground.
Even seasoned politicians like Lindsey Graham and Tom Emmer begrudgingly advised Trump to steer clear of personal attacks and focus more on Harris's “crazy” policies. However, it raises eyebrows as to why Trump’s words struck such a nerve when the media has long portrayed Biden and his party as the picture of stability despite all available evidence to the contrary. The left often relishes their ability to hurl accusations at those on the right as if they are immune to the same scrutiny.
With Trump’s comments in the spotlight, the hypocrisy within the left begins to shine through. For years, they condemned Trump’s fitness without a shred of damning evidence, but when the same tactics are aimed back, they recoil as though they’ve been caught red-handed. As the narrative begins to flip, leftists are struggling to cope with the kind of scrutiny they’ve so carelessly thrown at their political opponents. Realistically, the right deserves a chance to reflect the same energy, and hopefully, the backlash will serve as a wake-up call to those who wield the media’s magic wand.
