Less than a year before the 2024 presidential election, the political landscape is already heating up. In a surprising turn of events, former President Donald Trump is leading President Joe Biden in six key states, according to a recent poll by Redfield and Wilton Strategies. The states in question are Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania.

Trump’s strong showing is not entirely unexpected in Florida, considering the state’s Republican stronghold, but the other states should have Democrats worried. The biggest threat to Biden’s support comes from an unexpected source – Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who is running as a third-party candidate. The poll reveals that more Biden supporters are willing to vote for Kennedy than Trump supporters in states like Michigan and North Carolina.
This presents a significant challenge for Democrats who are already struggling to retain their black voter base. With Kennedy in the picture, Biden’s lead in Pennsylvania turns into a blowout in November, and his tie in Michigan transforms into a defeat.
The poll also shows Trump beating Biden in Arizona, Florida, Georgia, and North Carolina. This data suggests that the 2024 election could have entirely different results than the previous one. However, it’s worth noting that the GOP nomination race is still underway, and other Republican contenders could pose a threat to Biden as well. DeSantis and former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley have the potential to win in certain states.
While polls should always be taken with a grain of salt, there are valid reasons to consider the results. The Biden presidency has been widely criticized, and the president’s age and physical health have come under scrutiny. In addition, the RFK Jr. phenomenon is gaining popularity and could prove to be a major problem for the Democratic Party. All of this combined could make for a sleepless night for Democrats and potentially a bed-wetting situation in the future.
