Former President Donald Trump recently appeared in a Miami court to face 37 criminal charges related to allegedly mishandling classified documents, and he pleaded not guilty. The charges come from an investigation by Special Counsel Jack Smith who reportedly displayed bizarre behavior in the courtroom. According to reports, Smith intensely stared at Trump throughout his entire arraignment, and even followed Trump with his gaze as he left the courtroom. Some left-wing Twitter users praised Smith’s behavior, but conservatives labeled it as ‘creepy.’

This is not the first time Trump has had issues with Smith, as he famously called the special counsel a ‘thug’ and a ‘Trump hater’ in a Truth Social post. Trump’s GOP base and Republican voters, however, remain loyal with a recent CBS News poll showing that 61% of GOP supporters still want him as their nominee. Despite the ongoing legal battles, Trump recently celebrated his birthday at a Miami restaurant, surrounded by well-wishers.

Per @GrahamKates, who was in the courtroom, Special Counsel Jack Smith closely watched Trump as Trump exited slowly at the end. He watched Trump glance at reporters sitting in the back. Smith never broke his stare at Trump, per Kates.

It’s not a surprise to see the Democrat’s partisan operatives, such as Smith, using unorthodox practices to discredit the former president. Democrats have been trying to take down the Trump movement ever since he announced his candidacy, but they have failed time and time again. It’s difficult to understand why the left is so afraid of Trump, as evident by Smith’s creepy behavior in court.
The fact that a majority of Republican voters still want Trump as their nominee and continue to support him in the face of the ongoing legal drama is further proof that the Democrats are failing to malign him. Trump remains a political force to be reckoned with, and his conservative policies and leadership will continue to provide a platform for the Republican Party in the future.
