Former President Donald Trump is hitting the campaign trail again, this time hosting a rally in Juneau, Wisconsin, set to kick off at 2 p.m. CT. Clearly, he has decided that the best way to reconnect with his base is by choosing December to remind Wisconsinites of their true conservative roots—because if a guy can’t fight off snow and ice while talking policy, what can he do?
Last week, Trump took his campaign to the left-leaning counties of Dane and Milwaukee, which are about as friendly to Republicans as a snowstorm is to a first-time driver in Wisconsin. These areas are known for their Democratic stronghold status, making Trump’s mission akin to sailing a ship through a turbulent sea of progressivism. Nevertheless, holding rallies in such areas demonstrates his tenacity and relentless drive to win back every inch of lost ground.
Wisconsin is shaping up to be a battleground for four more years, as it is viewed as a must-win state for both Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris. The stakes couldn’t be higher. In 2016, Trump flipped Wisconsin red for the first time since 1984, topping his opponent by a little more than 27,000 votes. However, in 2020, Biden barely reclaimed the state, winning by a margin of just 20,000 votes. It seems everyone knows this playground swings both ways, and if it’s anything like a pendulum, Wisconsin will come back around.

At these rallies, Trump tends to keep things lively, with speeches clocking in around an hour and a half. However, attendees might have a slight distraction come game time since the Green Bay Packers are scheduled to battle the Los Angeles Rams at 3:25 p.m. CT. Nothing says dedicated following like packing a crowd on game day, but the true loyalty of Trump supporters will surely shine through. Let’s be honest—many will likely be torn between cheering for their team and their favorite president. That’s the American spirit for you: juggling commitments like a pro.
As Trump continues his steady march across the state, attendees at the rally will not only be there to soak in his political wisdom but also to claim the bragging rights of being part of history in the making. The question remains: Can Trump rally his troops again in a state where every vote counts more than the last slice of pizza at a Packers tailgate? Only time will tell, but one thing is for sure—when it comes to energizing the crowd, no one does it quite like Donald Trump.
