In a scorching takedown of the DC uniparty, Tucker Carlson of Fox News called out Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell following their responses to his latest reporting. Carlson had released previously unreleased footage from the January 6 Capitol riot, a move that did not sit well with the uniparty.
Schumer: "Rupert Murdoch has a special obligation to stop Tucker Carlson from going on tonight [and] from letting him go on again and again and again [because] our democracy depends on it." pic.twitter.com/uld6eaCl3C

Schumer was particularly vocal in his criticism, calling for the censorship of Carlson on his show. “Democracy depends on it,” Schumer insisted, suggesting that the American people could not be trusted to see the truth about the events of that day. Carlson hit back forcefully: “I don’t think I’ve ever seen an actor treat the American people and American democracy with such disdain.”

Carlson then raised the possibility of censorship, noting that “these lies continue tonight.” He called on Rupert Murdoch, CEO of Fox News, to step in and silence him, arguing that “our democracy depends on it.” Clearly, Schumer’s idea of democracy involves stifling dissenting voices and controlling the narrative.
But it wasn’t just Democrats who criticized Carlson’s report. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell also joined in the fray. Carlson wasn’t surprised, calling it all “hysteria.” He suggested that the reason for the backlash was that the footage threatened “the lies that Chuck Schumer has been telling for the last 26 months.”
As Carlson saw it, Democrats and Republicans may be on opposite sides of the aisle, but on this issue, they were all in cahoots. “The open borders people, the people like Mitch McConnell who are living in splendor on Chinese money, the people who underneath it all have everything in common are all aligned against everyone else,” he claimed.
While Schumer and McConnell may disagree on many issues, it’s clear that they share a deep disdain for Carlson’s reporting. In their eyes, any information that challenges their worldview must be quashed. But as Carlson noted, the truth will always come out in the end, no matter how hard they try to bury it.
