In a recent showdown on Capitol Hill, Senate Republicans fought tooth and nail to keep the census fair and square for American citizens, but alas, the Democrats once again showed their true colors by shutting down a common-sense proposal. Led by Senator Bill Hagerty, the GOP tried to ensure that only legal citizens, not illegal immigrants or temporary visa holders, were counted for determining House seats and Electoral College votes.
But what did the Democrats do? They banded together in unity, standing shoulder to shoulder with illegal immigrants instead of American citizens. Can you believe it? These left-wingers are so obsessed with their own power that they would rather have unlawful residents dictate our election outcomes than prioritize the rights of lawful Americans.
Most Americans do not know that the US census currently counts, for purposes of voting power, all people in a district, regardless of citizenship!

Of course, the liberal media and their allies on the far left lambasted the Republicans for trying to uphold the integrity of our electoral system. They cried foul, claiming that the GOP’s move was somehow biased and unfair. But isn’t it the duty of our lawmakers to protect the rights of American citizens first and foremost?
Thankfully, voices of reason like those from the Heritage Foundation and the National Immigration Center For Enforcement sounded the alarm on this issue. They warned that illegal immigration distorts our representation in Congress and skews the balance of power in our elections. It’s a sad state of affairs when speaking up for the rule of law and the rights of American citizens is seen as controversial.
And let’s not forget the role of Senate Democrats in all of this. By rejecting the Republican proposal, they made it clear that they are willing to use illegal immigrants as pawns to maintain their grip on power. It’s a disgraceful display of partisanship over patriotism.
In the end, the defeat of this vital amendment by the Democrats sends a troubling message. It shows that they are willing to put the interests of non-citizens above those of hard-working Americans. If the Democrats truly cared about the integrity of our democracy, they would have supported measures to ensure that only legal citizens have a say in our elections. But alas, it seems they are more concerned with scoring political points than upholding the principles of our great nation.
