Dems’ Sneaky Supreme Court “Ethics” Ploy Foiled by Sen. Kennedy’s Wit

In a stunning display of overreach, Senate Democrats led by Sheldon Whitehouse are attempting to impose a so-called “ethics” code on the Supreme Court. But Senator John Kennedy isn’t fooled by their feigned concern for ethical standards. He rightly believes that this legislation is not only unconstitutional, but also a thinly veiled attempt to undermine the Court.

In an interview with Fox News, Senator Kennedy hilariously pointed out that Congress is sometimes like high school, except no one graduates. And let’s be honest, folks, he’s absolutely right. Members of Congress can be petty and vindictive when someone dares to disagree with them. And this legislation is nothing more than a political ploy aimed at punishing the Court for decisions Democrats don’t like.

Kennedy astutely highlighted recent Supreme Court rulings that have embraced originalism and rejected judicial activism. And guess what? That’s exactly what the Democrats are upset about. They don’t want a Court that interprets the Constitution as it was written; they want a Court that bends to their progressive agenda.

The Democrats’ true intentions are laid bare when you consider their desire to expand the Court. They’re desperate to dilute the influence of conservative Justices and tip the balance in their favor. Unable to achieve this goal directly, they’re now resorting to trying to destroy the Court from within. It’s a blatant power grab, and we need to call it out for what it is.

Senator Kennedy also emphasized that the Supreme Court already has a code of conduct in place and that justices must disclose any expensive trips they take. Yes, folks, they’re supposed to disclose it, and if they forget, they can file amended disclosures. Sound familiar? That’s exactly what members of Congress do too. But ask yourself, does anyone seriously think that a vacation could buy off a Supreme Court Justice? Kennedy’s answer is a resounding “no” and a more emphatic “hell, no.”

Let’s not mince words. Democrats’ attempts to undermine the Supreme Court with this ethics bill are as dead as fried chicken. It’s nothing more than political posturing and an attempt to chip away at the separation of powers. We can’t allow the Court to be bullied by partisan politics. It’s time for conservatives to stand up and defend the integrity of our highest Court.
