Folks are fleeing the chaos and mayhem of Democratic-run cities faster than a cat with its tail on fire! And where are they hightailing it? You guessed it—straight to the land of sunshine and freedom, Florida!
According to the U.S. Census Bureau’s data from 2020 to 2023, four out of the top five metropolitan areas with the highest population increases are in the great state of Florida. Lakeland saw a whopping 12.1% surge, Port St. Lucie reported a 9.6% increase, Cape Coral boasted a 9% jump, and North Port clocked in with an 8.6% rise. That’s right, Florida is where the action’s at!

And get this: all these flourishing areas are represented by Republican members of Congress! We’re talking about the likes of Rep. Laurel Lee (R-FL) in Lakeland, Rep. Brian Mast (R-FL) in Port St. Lucie, Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL) in Cape Coral, and Rep. Greg Steube (R-FL) in North Port. These Republicans have been holding it down in their districts, and it’s no wonder people are flocking to these freedom-loving havens.
In stark contrast, the areas that saw a population exodus are all repped by Democratic members of Congress. Take New Orleans, for instance, represented by Rep. Troy Carter (D-LA), where the population plummeted by 4.3%. And let’s not forget the mass exodus from the liberal meccas of San Francisco, Los Angeles, and New York, all represented by Democratic heavy-hitters like Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), Rep. Jimmy Gomez (D-CA), Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), and many more. Coincidence? We think not!
The cherry on top? The Census Bureau’s Population Estimates Branch chief, Lauren Bowers, pointed out that the areas in the Midwest and Northeast, which saw a surge in people leaving during the pandemic, are now witnessing population growth. It’s like folks are waking up and smelling the freedom!
So, there you have it, folks. The numbers don’t lie. Republican-run areas are thriving, and people are running to them faster than you can say “liberty and justice for all.” Meanwhile, Democratic strongholds are bleeding residents like a leaky faucet. Looks like the red wave is coming, and it’s not just in politics—it’s in population growth too!
