In a surprising turn of events, House Intelligence Committee chairman Mike Turner (R-OH) has sounded the alarm about a serious national security threat, urging the Biden administration to release information regarding Russia’s alleged development of a nuclear-armed anti-satellite weapon. Turner, speaking on NBC News’s Meet the Press, expressed his concern that the White House was “sleepwalking into an international crisis” due to their previous inaction on matters like the Chinese spy balloon incident.
Turner, known for his no-nonsense approach to national security issues, did not hold back as he called for the declassification of information on this looming threat. This further demonstrates that the administration is taking the matter seriously and engaging with international partners to address the risk posed by Russia’s alleged weapon development.
While Turner’s statement on Wednesday sparked some concerns from congressional leaders and within the GOP House conference, it’s clear that he is unapologetically committed to ensuring the safety and security of the United States.
