Journalist to Lightfoot: “Get Out of Chicago!”

William J. Kelly, an Emmy award-winning TV host, radio and print journalist, recently delivered a scathing statement to Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot during a city council meeting. Kelly accused Lightfoot of revoking his media credentials for asking “obvious questions” about crime in the city, and called for the media credential process to be taken away from the mayor and police superintendent and put in the hands of the Constitution.

Kelly’s statement was a clear indictment of the mayor’s handling of the city of Chicago. He accused Lightfoot of shutting down schools, churches, and businesses, and said that her actions have caused irreparable damage to the city. He even called her a “pandemic” and urged her to leave the city.

This is yet another example of how liberal politicians like Lightfoot are willing to use their power to silence conservative voices. Kelly was simply asking questions that needed to be asked, but instead of answering them, Lightfoot chose to revoke his media credentials. This is an egregious violation of freedom of speech and press, and it is unacceptable.

The mayor’s handling of the COVID-19 pandemic has been disastrous for the city of Chicago. She has shut down schools, churches, and businesses, and has done nothing to address the rampant crime in the city. Her actions have caused irreparable damage to the city, and it is clear that she is not fit to lead.

It is time for Mayor Lightfoot to step down and for a new leader to take her place. A leader who will listen to the people of Chicago and who will put their needs first. A leader who will not use their power to silence conservative voices. It is time for change in Chicago, and it starts with Mayor Lightfoot leaving office.
