Jimmy Kimmel got roasted like a Thanksgiving turkey at the 2024 Academy Awards when he decided to share President Donald Trump’s scathing review of his hosting skills. The audience couldn’t contain their laughter at the comedian’s pitiful performance, stirring up more chuckles than a barrel of monkeys.

Kimmel, in a desperate attempt to save face, whipped out his phone to read aloud Trump’s brutal takedown on Truth Social. Trump didn’t hold back, calling Kimmel out for trying too hard to be something he’s not, leaving the crowd in stitches. Even Kimmel couldn’t help but chuckle as he read the ruthless review, which ended with a classic “Make America Great Again” jab.
As Kimmel wrapped up his monologue, he took a feeble swing at the former president, trying to mask his embarrassment with a weak jail joke. Nice try, Kimmel, but it fell flatter than a pancake on a Sunday morning.
The Oscars started off with a glimmer of hope as viewers tuned in to see how Kimmel would fare, but that hope quickly faded like a cheap magic trick. Critics bashed Kimmel for his lackluster opening, with many calling it boring, tedious, and downright unfunny. It’s no wonder the audience was left fidgeting in their seats like kids at a dentist’s office.
Kimmel’s attempts at humor fell as flat as a punctured tire. He compared a dog to Robert Downey, Jr., joked about an Iron Man remake with a canine lead, and made a cringe-worthy Spongebob Squarepants comparison. Yikes, Kimmel, stick to the script next time.
The rest of the night wasn’t much better, with John Cena’s naked appearance causing a stir and calls for more diversity among nominees falling on deaf ears. Advertisers ran for the hills, slashing rates and leaving the Oscars scrambling for relevance like a lost puppy in a storm. Maybe next time, they’ll think twice before trying so hard and failing so spectacularly.
