Mainstream Media Finally Scrutinizes Kamala Harris Avoids Tough Questions Quietly Floundering

The mainstream media appears to be waking up to a rather unsettling truth about Kamala Harris: she’s little more than an empty shell fumbling her way through press events. A crafty reporter has been putting the vice president’s media avoidance tactics under the microscope, and the results are as illuminating as they are hilarious. Instead of facing tough questions, Harris seems to prefer interviews with friendly journalists who wouldn’t dare press her on her dubious claims or inadequate responses. This media strategy mirrors that of Joe Biden, who has similarly hid behind a wall of sympathetic coverage.

What could explain this new wave of scrutiny? Perhaps some in the media are finally realizing that their role is supposed to involve asking the hard questions, rather than acting as cheerleaders for an obviously faltering campaign. It seems that Harris’ supposed momentum is stalling out in key battleground states, prompting some media outlets to reconsider their approach. When a candidate evades real questions, it eventually becomes too obvious, even for the most dedicated leftist journalists.

For context, Axios recently demonstrated a comical disconnect regarding her title as “border czar”. After attempting to downplay Harris’s responsibilities, they were reminded by their own archives that they had previously used that very label. This slip-up is a notable indicator of the haphazardness surrounding Harris’ narrative. In a more amusing twist, reporter Alex Thompson from Axios has been diligently asking about the campaign’s plans, only to be met with silence—a classic case of a campaign that seems to be out of its depth.

The silence from Harris’s camp could stem from a few rather troubling possibilities. It is quite conceivable that her handlers either don’t know the answers to questions or are aware that their answers would likely change at the drop of a hat. The refusal to engage meaningfully might also reflect a lack of respect for the media itself, believing they can glide through the campaign without owing anyone solid responses. Fox News’ Jacqui Heinrich highlights how even when the staffers do respond, they recycle the same uninspired platitudes, evading the specifics of the inquiries with impressive consistency.

If Harris continues to sidestep meaningful interactions with the press, where are voters supposed to look for clarity? The only source for the candidate’s true positions may well be her past—a past filled with radical leftist ideology that was outright rejected by voters during her original campaign. In an attempt to distance herself from that figure, Harris has resorted to swiping ideas from her GOP opponents, including policies from Donald Trump, a baffling turn that raises eyebrows all around. As Harris strives to reinvent herself, should her earlier ambitions and statements come rushing back into the spotlight, it may lead to even more confusion for her supporters. The “joyful” facade she presents is bound to falter as more voters begin to see through the charade.
