The Biden administration’s open borders policy continues to wreak havoc at the U.S.-Mexico border. On Thursday, U.S. Customs and Border Protection was forced to shut down the Gateway International Bridge, which links Matamoros, Mexico to Brownsville, Texas, after a group of over 1,000 migrants attempted to make a mass illegal entry, according to Border Report.

The Gateway International Bridge was shut down to ensure the safety of Americans and legal immigrants. The border agents reportedly set up barricades to prevent illegal aliens from entering, and no violence or injuries were reported. However, the situation could have turned violent as the illegal migrants tried to cross in the lanes where the vehicles were going through.
These migrants are among roughly 1,500 people residing in unsanitary encampments a few blocks from the bridge on the Mexican side. They are reportedly waiting to enter the United States since they believe the Trump-era Public Health Order, Title 42, which expels illegal aliens to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, will end on May 11.
This situation suggests that President Biden’s open borders policy is encouraging these illegals to come to America. The number of illegal immigrants attempting to cross the border has surged since Biden took office, which has put immense pressure on the U.S. border patrol agents. Border Patrol agents fear a major surge once Title 42 ends, and Browner police specified that these illegal aliens plan to enter the U.S. illegally on and after that date.
The surge of illegal immigrant entry has put in danger the safety and security of the US citizens and moral immigrants who have followed the legal process to come to America. Trump’s border policies were working, but Biden’s policies have turned it into an utter chaos. It’s time for the Biden Administration to stop its open borders policy and enforce the law. American safety and freedoms must be protected!
