Minnesota’s Electric Bus Flop Freezes Green Hopes

The liberal left’s ambitious green dreams are hitting icy roadblocks in blue Minnesota as their plans for electric buses are breaking down faster than a rusty old pick-up truck. The Land of 10,000 Lakes is finding out that it’s more like the land of 10,000 operation challenges when it comes to electric buses, especially when Jack Frost comes nipping at their batteries.

The promise of slashing carbon emissions is becoming as elusive as a snowball in July as these electric buses struggle to keep their wheels turning in Minnesota’s frigid winter conditions. The 150-mile range per charge is about as reliable as a weather forecast in the North Star State.

In the Twin Cities, Metro Transit is finding out the hard way that these electric buses can barely make it to the end of the block before needing a recharge in the cold. The garage chargers only give them enough juice for 70 to 75 miles, leaving passengers and drivers out in the cold, literally.

Duluth, not to be outdone, has been dealing with more charging station malfunctions and glitches than a computer with a virus. On top of that, these electric buses are about as cozy as an igloo in the middle of a blizzard, leaving passengers feeling more frosty than a snowman.

These electric buses are about as efficient in the cold as a popsicle in an oven. The cold weather makes their batteries about as useful as a frozen TV dinner. Not only do these buses struggle with their driving range, but they also gobble up energy faster than a kid eating candy.
