In a move that has conservative heads spinning, New York City Mayor Eric Adams and his liberal administration have come up with a brilliant plan: they want to house illegal immigrants in public school buildings. Seriously? This is the best solution they could come up with? It’s no wonder why the City that Never Sleeps is rapidly becoming the City that Never Stops Making Terrible Decisions.

According to reports, the Office of Emergency Management, in cahoots with Adams’ office, has compiled a list of 20 to 30 school buildings that could potentially house these illegal immigrants. Can you imagine? Schools that should be filled with the laughter and learning of American children will instead be overrun with individuals who broke our laws to enter the country. What a fantastic use of taxpayer-funded resources!
Now, I understand that Adams and his team believe they are being compassionate by taking in these asylum-seekers, but let’s not forget that compassion should also extend to the American citizens who deserve a quality education. Is it fair to these students and their families to have their schools transformed into makeshift detention centers? Absolutely not.
Former Congressman Vito Fossella hit the nail on the head when he said, “Staten Island didn’t create this problem and shouldn’t have to solve this problem.” Amen, Vito! It’s not the responsibility of hardworking Americans to bear the burden of failures in our immigration system. Instead of trying to find creative ways to house these individuals, maybe Adams should be focusing on securing our borders and actually enforcing our immigration laws.
But let’s not forget, this is the same Mayor Adams who once suggested sending illegal immigrants to every city in the country. Yes, you heard that right. He wants to spread the burden to hardworking Americans everywhere. It’s as if he believes the entire country should pay for his city’s inability to handle its own problems. Well, Mr. Adams, I have news for you: the rest of America doesn’t want your mess.
To make matters even more absurd, NYC had even resorted to using a shuttered jail to house migrants. And if that wasn’t enough, they had the audacity to kick out wedding guests from their hotel reservations to make room for these illegal immigrants. What a slap in the face to American citizens who are just trying to celebrate their special day.
At the end of the day, it’s clear that the priorities of Mayor Adams and his liberal cronies are completely out of whack. Instead of focusing on the needs of American citizens, they would rather pander to those who violated our laws. It’s a slap in the face to every hardworking taxpayer and a betrayal of the values that have made this country great.
So, congratulations Mayor Adams, you’ve once again proven that liberal leadership leads to big mistakes. I hope the people of New York City remember this when it’s time to cast their next vote.
