Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders of Arkansas has been in office for only a few weeks, yet her star is already rising. On Tuesday night, she delivered the Republican rebuttal to President Biden’s second State of the Union address. As the youngest governor in America, Sanders began her speech by discussing her experiences as a mother and how they have shaped her views. She emphasized that America is the freest country ever known and that government exists to serve the people, not rule them.

Sanders then contrasted herself with Biden, noting that she is the first woman to lead her state, while he is the oldest president in American history. She also criticized the Democrats for their vision for Americans, which includes high taxes, empty grocery shelves, and teaching children to hate one another based on race. Sanders accused Biden of surrendering his presidency to a “woke mob” and said that the dividing line in America is no longer between right or left, but between normal or crazy.

The Governor then highlighted the swift action her administration took on day one to roll back woke policies. She also spoke out against the left’s intolerance, which requires people to partake in their rituals and worship their false idols. Sanders argued that most Americans just want to live their lives in freedom and peace, but they are under attack in a culture war they never wanted to fight.

In contrast to Biden and the Democrats, Sanders explained that Republicans believe in an America where strong families thrive in safe communities, jobs are abundant, and paychecks are rising. She also argued that Biden has made Americans less safe and is unfit to serve as Commander in Chief.

She urged them to stay moored to their deepest values and oldest traditions, yet remain unafraid to challenge the present order and find a better way forward.
