In a recent event that has Hollywood-drama potential, the New York Judge Juan Merchan decided to push back the hush money trial of former President Donald Trump by 30 days. And boy oh boy, did Democratic Representative Adam Schiff (from the state of California – of course!) have something to say about it.

Schiff went on the “State of the Union” show to express his outrage at the judge’s decision and Trump’s attempt to delay the trial even further. The former President is facing a whopping 34 felony counts over allegations of paying hush money to multiple women who claim they had an affair with him in 2018. Schiff called out Trump for using delay tactics to potentially escape justice, claiming it’s a tactic he’s used throughout his career. Yikes, sounds like Schiff is not holding back any punches!
But wait, there’s more! Schiff also brought up his concerns about Trump’s case related to the January 6th incident. He’s worried that the Supreme Court is dragging its feet on making a decision about Trump’s presidential immunity claim. Schiff even suggested that the court’s potential delay could be a deliberate decision to push the trial past the election. Talk about adding fuel to the fire!
As if that wasn’t enough drama for one day, jury selection for the hush money trial was supposed to kick off on March 25th, but now that’s also up in the air. A new date will be set during a hearing, so stay tuned for more nail-biting anticipation.
