Senators Josh Hawley and Tom Cotton have urged President Biden to take measures to protect Jewish American college students from escalating anti-Israel and pro-terrorist demonstrations on university campuses. They have sent a letter to President Biden requesting the mobilization of the National Guard to safeguard Jewish American students.
Senator Hawley stated that Jewish Americans are facing risks on college campuses, suggesting that President Biden should take decisive action against antisemitism, referencing the National Guard's deployment in 1957 to protect Black students, and calling for similar measures for Jewish American students.
LOL.
So now we need the National Guard on our college campuses to protect faculty and students from “hate speech.”
Which of course will be anything that goes against the dominant narrative.https://t.co/1748nLmYGi

Senator Cotton echoed these concerns, pointing to the "nascent pogroms" at Columbia University, urging President Biden to take charge and disperse mobs if local authorities are unable to maintain order.
While President Biden has condemned antisemitic protests and initiated a program to address the issue, tensions continue to rise amid pro-Palestinian demonstrations at Columbia University and other universities.
Senator Hawley indicated that campus police and local law enforcement have been unsuccessful in securing Columbia University, leading Rabbi Elie Buechler to recommend that Jewish students consider returning home for their safety.
The senators highlighted the alarming levels of antisemitism and violent rhetoric exhibited by some demonstrators, who also celebrated terrorist attacks against Israel.
Last October, the Senate unanimously passed Senator Hawley's resolution condemning Hamas and antisemitic rhetoric from campus student groups, which have continued to support terrorist acts against Israel.
The senators are calling on President Biden to take robust action to ensure the safety of Jewish American college students in light of increasing antisemitism on university campuses.
