Joe Biden's announcement that he will not run for president in 2020 is a symbol of the failure of the Democratic Party to find fresh ideas and youth. He is also the oldest president in history. Despite his age, he has not stopped throwing his hat into the ring. He joins two other prominent Democrats: Robert F. Kennedy and Marianne Williamson.
A Harvard University poll revealed that 63% of Americans think that Biden is too old to be the country's president, yet he decided to ignore the majority's opinion. The reason why Biden kept avoiding running was likely due to how he couldn't remember what he had lunch for that day. However, after getting the support of his wife and liberal elites, he decided to join the race.
It is no surprise that Kamala Harris would join Biden's team in 2024. Since he needs the support of the party's progressives and establishment, he will have no choice but to choose her. The California politician has a long history of being a poor leader, and she can't draw a crowd at public events. At least she is not the Bernie Sanders nightmare.
Julie Chavez Rodriguez, Biden's campaign manager, is the granddaughter of the late Cesar Chavez. According to reports, the Biden team is working to acquire votes from members of the Latino community, who are typically reliable Democratic voters. It's sad that the Democratic Party continues to rely on identity politics in order to win elections.
It was also reported that the Biden campaign is eyeing the city of Wilmington as its potential campaign headquarters. This is a surprise move, as he had previously stated that he would not run for president in 2020. It's clear that Joe Biden will not be able to lead the country successfully in the next four years. His meandering, self-important, and forgetful leadership style will continue to affect Americans.
