The Associated Press (AP) is under fire from social media users for failing to mention that an illegal immigrant was charged with the tragic murder of nursing student Laken Riley. Jose Antonio Ibarra, who is not a resident of the U.S., was arrested by University of Georgia authorities for the death of Riley. It’s quite concerning that AP framed the story as highlighting the fears of solo female athletes instead of focusing on the fact that an illegal immigrant was responsible for this heinous crime. This kind of biased reporting is a disservice to the American people who deserve the truth about the dangers of unchecked illegal immigration.
Conservative voices, including activist Scott Presler and Republican lawmakers like Florida Rep. Berny Jacques and Texas Rep. Chip Roy, have called out the media outlet for downplaying Ibarra’s immigration status and shifting the narrative away from the real issue at hand. It’s clear that the mainstream media is more concerned with pushing their own agenda than with providing the public with accurate and important information. This kind of irresponsible journalism is dangerous and only serves to protect criminals at the expense of American lives.

It’s outrageous that Ibarra, who entered the U.S. illegally and has a criminal history, was able to roam freely in our country and ultimately commit such a horrific crime. The lack of border security and enforcement has real, devastating consequences, as evidenced by the senseless murder of Laken Riley. It’s time for our leaders to prioritize the safety and security of American citizens over the interests of illegal immigrants. The tragic death of Riley should serve as a wake-up call to address the crisis at our borders and hold those responsible for allowing it to happen to account.
As conservatives, we must continue to demand transparency and accountability from the media and our elected officials. The American people deserve to know the truth about crimes committed by illegal immigrants and the failures of our immigration system. It’s time to put the safety and well-being of American citizens first and ensure that tragedies like the murder of Laken Riley never happen again.
