In a recent press conference, President Joe Biden gave a performance that left many scratching their heads. The president appeared tired and struggled to keep his eyes open throughout the appearance. He read his notes slowly and barely audibly, sometimes appearing as if he couldn’t even remember what he was saying. To make matters worse, Biden decided to share a debunked story about being in Israel during the 1967 war, raising further questions about his mental acuity.

But the fun didn’t stop there. After boarding Air Force One, Biden decided to give an impromptu presser, and it did not go well. He froze up, staring blankly for uncomfortably long periods of time, leaving viewers wondering what he was trying to say. At one point, he seemed to be talking about school shootings, but then veered off into a discussion about victimized people seeking hope. Is he trying to draw some sort of comparison to the Israel-Hamas situation? No one knows for sure.

To make matters even more awkward, Secretary of State Antony Blinken could be seen looking down at the floor the entire time. One can only imagine what was going through his mind. But credit where credit is due, Biden did respond to a snotty question from a reporter, although he stumbled through his answer. Instead of confidently addressing the issue, he got stuck midway and muttered, “well, anyway.” Not exactly the response you would expect from a competent president.
This whole episode is a prime example of the problem with having an 80-year-old president. Biden’s physical and mental decline is clearly evident, and it’s not what the world needs right now. We need a leader who exudes energy, confidence, and strength, someone who can speak quickly and decisively. Mumbling through answers only projects weakness. It’s time for a change in leadership.
