During a recent press conference, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre made the audacious claim that Joe Biden has “done more to secure the border than anybody else.” Cue the eye rolls and scoffs from those who have been paying attention to the actual situation at the border.

Just days before Jean-Pierre’s statement, Border Patrol agents in the San Diego Sector were under fire for attempting to apprehend human smugglers and illegal migrants crossing the border from Mexico. If this is what securing the border looks like, then we might as well give up.

To add insult to injury, the Biden administration has been busy dismantling, disposing, and even auctioning off parts of the border wall that was constructed under the Trump administration. Yes, you read that right. The very thing that was intended to help secure the border is now being torn down. So much for Biden’s commitment to border security.
It’s no secret that the border crisis has worsened under Biden’s watch. Millions of people have illegally crossed the border since he took office in January 2021. And let’s not forget about the massive migrant caravan of over 1,000 people that crossed the El Paso, Texas border last year. This is a crisis of epic proportions, and Biden’s response has been nothing short of a disaster.
The Biden administration’s policies not only keep the border wide open but also serve as an invitation for illegal crossings. Just earlier this month, thousands of illegal immigrants were seen crossing into Fronton, Texas. And as if that weren’t enough, the administration has been allowing thousands of illegal immigrants to pour into America through “welded open” floodgates on the Arizona border. It’s no wonder that the open floodgates in Tuscan are now the busiest point of illegal entry into the country.
So when Jean-Pierre claims that Biden has done more to secure the border than anyone else, it’s hard not to laugh. The facts simply do not support her statement. In reality, Biden has overseen the worst border crisis on record. It’s time for the Biden administration to stop gaslighting the American public and start taking real action to secure our borders. The safety and security of our nation depend on it.
