Well, well, well, folks, it looks like the Biden White House is up to its old tricks again. They’ve gone and tweaked their press credential policy, and surprise, surprise, some outlets didn’t make the cut. One of those unlucky few? The Daily Signal, a right-leaning publication. Can you believe it?
According to the Signal, this move is nothing more than a blatant attempt to kick out any media figures who don’t toe the administration’s line. But of course, you won’t see Fox News getting the boot. No, no, they’re a mainstay in that briefing room. Can’t have too much obvious bias, now can we?
This media purge didn’t mess around, folks. Scores of reporters lost their precious credentials. Over 440 of them, to be exact. That’s a whole lot of silenced voices who won’t be able to hold Biden accountable for his actions. And we all know how well that works out for the American people.
Now, let’s talk about these new regulations that caused this chaos. Apparently, reporters now need to prove they have full-time employment with a news organization, have a physical address in D.C., and show they’ve been to the White House at least once in the past six months for work. Oh, and don’t forget about the accreditation from a press gallery in the Senate, House of Representatives, or Supreme Court. Apparently, being a journalist just isn’t enough anymore.
But here’s the kicker: the White House can revoke these hard passes if a journalist doesn’t act “in a professional manner.” Are they serious? Have they not heard of Jim Acosta and Brian Karem? These guys were practically the poster children for unprofessionalism during the Trump administration. They had their passes temporarily taken away until they threw a fit and took legal action. So, will we see legal action now? Or is it only okay when it’s the Biden administration cracking down on the press?
It’s hard not to shake your head at the audacity of it all. If Donald Trump had even dared to suggest something like this to thin out the reporting pool, the Left would have written endless thought pieces and screamed about how democracy was dying in darkness. But now there’s precedent, my friends. If Trump wins again in 2024, he should take full advantage of it. Turnabout is fair play, after all.
So, there you have it, folks. The Biden administration, once again showing their true colors. They claim to champion transparency and a free press, but their actions speak louder than words. And what they’re saying is, “If you’re not on our team, you’re out.” Sad, but not surprising. God help us all.
